Mental Health Assessments are designed to diagnose mental health disorders to help guide treatment. Assessments are one of the first steps in the client-therapist relationship. Once an assessment is completed, the direction of the therapeutic relationship can develop.
Individual Therapy involves the client meeting one-on-one with a therapist. The client then works in tandem with the therapist to develop goals the client wants to achieve. The client's consistent application of skills learned in therapy determines how fast and if the client reaches their desired goals. The therapeutic treatment model used varies depending on client need.
The decision for FMLA/Disability paperwork to be completed is determined by the clinical need of the client. Such paperwork can not be completed while using EAP services and is also considered only after 6 or more sessions have occurred. The clinician needs to be able to assess the client's mental state over time prior to completing FMLA paperwork. There is an assessed fee for the completion of the paperwork and any recertifications.
